- The Coast Guard Academy Humanities department hosted the second Elenchus Lecture Thursday at 7 p.m. in Leamy Auditorium.
This event, which was free and open to the public, highlighted guest speaker William Kristol, the editor of the Weekly Standard and one of the nations leading political analysts and commentators. Kristol also served as chief of staff to Vice President Dan Quayle during the first Bush Administration.

- Two medical staff members at the clinic located at the Coast Guard Academy were treated for minor medical symptoms at approximately 1 p.m. today after opening a suspicious letter that was received in the mail.

- As part of its Community of Inclusion dialogues, the Coast Guard Academy has partnered with Amistad America to provide an immersive experience to Coast Guard cadets and the entire Academy community. This opportunity has also been opened to local New London schoolchildren through the Academys Partnership in Education program as part of our outreach and enrichment efforts.

- The U.S. Coast Guard Academy has been ranked 2nd in the category of Best Baccalaureate Colleges in the North and 15th Best Undergraduate Engineering Program in the Country in the 2010 edition of Americas Best Colleges by U.S. New Media Group.
